Your Current Data Infrastructure is Broken

We’re re-releasing our paper on our view of a Modern Data Infrastructure this morning. This paper was originally released, about a month ago, as a three-part series of articles on LinkedIn. For anyone that works in manufacturing and uses data, this is something that needs to be read.

Every time a manufacturer further develops a system that is based on current data infrastructure platforms, they take another step toward the inevitable; complete overload and performance failure. If you are one of those manufacturers who is creating a system of context-based historical data, stored in a traditional flat-file process historian, using a SQL-based context provider, your platform will eventually collapse. Unless you don’t have any event-based data, but in that case you may not actually be measuring anything valuable…

Please read our approach and then look into the products that we’re endorsing as the solution. You can get started on your own with no cost. When you get to the point that you need our help, we’ll be here.
